The central facilities, which include a central electronics shop, central materials facility and central machines shop, support the research activities within Texas A&M at Qatar, as well as provide technical services to industry, government and academic partners. Texas A&M at Qatar facilities provide materials and services including printed circuit board prototyping, electronic solutions, material characterization and machining.
To provide technically competent service for all customers of the central facilities, Texas A&M at Qatar has developed a Quality Management System (QMS) to meet the requirements of International Standard ISO 9001:2015. Staff and faculty implemented QMS to formalize best practices and to ensure superior quality for customers and clients.
Texas A&M at Qatar secured certification for six more labs and facilities (水和环境研究实验室, 燃料表征实验室, Rapid Manufacturing Laboratory, 化学实验室仪器, Sustainable Energy and Clean Air 研究 Laboratory and the 发动机的研究和测试实验室). Taken together, this ongoing effort toward international certification will create new opportunities for collaborations and partnerships with local organizations and industry. The 科学 Program at Texas A&M at Qatar has a highly advanced instrumental analysis laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art instruments conducted by a professional staff of scientists with decades of experience. Currently our analytical laboratory, which is ISO 9001:2015 Certified, offers the following instrumental capabilities:

Texas A&M has more than 6,000 square feet of world-class water and environmental research laboratories that are continuously upgraded and expanded. Our water and environmental research laboratories are ISO 9001:2015 certified, and contain a wide range of state-of-the-art analytical equipment. Laboratory analytical capabilities include all inorganic, organic and physical parameter testing of samples with a variety of matrices, including water, wastewater, soils and sludges. The laboratories maintain comprehensive quality assurance and quality control programs. The sources of analytical procedures include, but are not limited to, USEPA methods, standard methods for the examination of water and wastewater (APHA), and ASTM methods. A set of standard operating procedures is available for each of the laboratory areas and contain clear, complete written instructions for completing each standard test performed by lab personnel.
The laboratories include well-trained and highly qualified staff and state-of-the-art lab facilities. In addition to analytical equipment, these facilities include constant temperature rooms, chemical storage, autoclaves, cold storage, anaerobic chambers, laminar flow benches, exhaust hoods, ovens, furnaces, etc. With current R&D water and environmental research and technical service projects worth more than $10 million, the research team builds upon a strong scientific and technological base related to the sustainable utilization of water and environment of direct relevance to Qatar.

Materials equipment present in the facility caters to multiple fields of scientific research including engineering, metallurgy, geology and medicine. This facility is capable of providing various material characterizations services, such as elemental and phase analysis, imaging, surface, microstructure and particle size analysis. 3-D printing is changing and impacting the way we conduct our day-to-day lives. It was with this understanding that Texas A&M at Qatar established its unique 3-D printing facility in August 2007. This 3-D printing facility is ISO 9001:2015 certified, and allows designers, researchers and engineers from all disciplines to step beyond the virtual barriers and interact with a real-world objects. To satisfy its internal and external customers’ prototyping and manufacturing needs, the facility houses a total of eight 3-D printers, which can print in materials ranging from titanium to different grades of plastics. The facility is mainly used to manufacture functional parts and prototypes, of complex geometry, that are otherwise harder to manufacture through conventional manufacturing methods. The facility also has a 3-D surface scanner in place to scan any three-dimensional object and create replicas or 3-D models instantly. Different software packages in the facility allow the pre-processing and post-processing of CAD files to perform quality control on newly printed parts or reverse engineering on currently existing parts.

This facility is equipped with various gasoline and diesel engines, and sophisticated data acquisition and analysis systems.
The ISO 9001:2015 certified Sustainable Energy and Clean Air 研究 laboratory (SECAReLab) was established within Texas A&M University at Qatar with the rationale that many environmental, health, energy, safety, and process industry related matters are interdependent and rely on understanding and exploiting the science of chemical engineering. Acknowledging the potential of this diverse set of applications and their basis on common principles, SECAReLab conducts basic and applied research, and develops new technological products and processes in these niche areas. Thus, we recognize and respond to social and market needs in the field of clean air and sustainable energy.
